Is Fluoride Dangerous?
When fluoride was introduced to water supplies throughout
our country, it was touted as a cure for cavities and a great way to promote
better dental health. But is fluoride
safe? Increasingly, the research says
“no.” Read more about what you can do to
protect yourself from what some experts are calling the dangers of fluoride . .
.
A Second Opinion on Fluoride
Fluoride is a
by-product of the aluminum, steel, and fertilizer industries, according to Dr.
Patricia Ryan, founder of Alternatives: A Center for Conscious Health. “It is extremely reactive and can displace
oxygen from water. It joins mercury as
being one of the most poisonous substances on earth. It is found in rat poisoning, pesticides, toothpaste,
and drinking water, she noted.
“The experts tell us
it is safe, and promotes dental health and prevents tooth cavities. This is not true. As it stands, there is no credible evidence
that fluoride added to the water supply reduces cavities at all! In fact there are several studies that have
convincingly demonstrated that the incidence of cavities is greater in the cities
that fluoridate their water,” Dr. Ryan said.
As early as 1952 Dr.
A.L. Miller, former chairman of the Special Committee on Chemicals in Foods,
recognized that there were no original studies by the American Medical Association
(AMA) or American Dental Association (ADA) showing evidence of the usefulness
of adding fluoride to the water. Here’s what he discovered, according to Dr.
Russell Blaylock, M.D. in his book “Health and Nutrition Secrets.”
Fluoride....
·
causes
dental fluorosis
·
damages
DNA repair enzymes
·
increases
risk for osteoporosis
·
increases
risk for cancer (bone, oral, bladder, and lung)
·
causes
genetic damage
·
causes
skeletal fluorosis
·
causes
abnormal brain development
·
causes
hypothyroidism
·
reduces
fertility in males
·
increases
the amount of lead in our drinking water substantially
Dr. Ryan explained,
quoting from the book: “Coca-cola uses
reverse osmosis in their Dasani water and removes fluoride. However their soda uses fluoridated water in
its ingredients. Therefore the aluminum
in the cans combined with fluoride at higher temperatures (as can happen when
they sit on trucks) increases the aluminofluoride compound in the pop. This compound is very toxic. Then if you are lucky enough to be drinking
pop with nutrasweet, it also breaks down into the carcinogenic compounds
diketopiperazine, formaldehyde and formic acid. Mmmm.... Diet Coke anyone?”
“Fluoride accumulates
in the environment,” Dr. Ryan explained.
“Because it is added to something as ubiquitous as water, it will not
only accumulate in food products and beverages, it is in our soil, and our
ground water.
So what can we do? According to Dr. Ryan, avoid:
·
fluoride
toothpaste
·
fluoride
mouthwash
·
fluoride
dental treatments
·
aluminum
cookware
“Also drink only
purified water (especially pregnant and nursing mothers), and don’t use
fluoridated water to cook with,” Dr. Ryan said.
“What’s more, vitamins D and E, and magnesium, and the amino acids
glycine and glutamine have been shown to be protective.” For more information, contact Dr. Ryan at

Editor’s Note: The above information was obtained from a
book written by the renowned neurosurgeon, Dr. Russell Blaylock, M.D. entitled
“Health and Nutrition Secrets.” I highly recommend this book for in-depth
reading on this and other substances that affect our health.
